Weights and Dimensions
Which standard governs which number, and where to find the live tables.
Copper alloy flanges are normally made to a steel dimensional pattern in a non-steel material. That split is the thing to keep straight when you are reading dimensions and ratings.
The physical dimensions, outside diameter, bolt circle, hole count and hole size, thickness and hub geometry, come from the dimensional standard. For most copper alloy flange work that is ASME B16.5, or ASME B16.24 where a cast copper alloy pattern is called for.
The pressure-temperature rating does not come from those tables. The B16.5 rating tables are computed for steel. A flange machined to a B16.5 pattern from C70600 has the geometry of a Class 150 flange and the strength of copper-nickel, which is a different and lower number. The rating has to be worked from the design code, ASME B31.3 for process piping, using the certified allowable stress for the actual alloy at the actual temperature.
Copper alloys also derate steeply with temperature compared with steel, so a rating that is comfortable at ambient can be marginal at 300 degrees F. Send us the design conditions rather than just the class, and we will tell you whether the alloy and thickness carry it.

Pressure classes we supply

On weights
Published flange weights are nominal. They are calculated from the standard geometry at a nominal density and they do not account for machining allowance, the actual bore, the facing, or the specific gravity of the alloy you are ordering. For rigging, shipping and structural support, ask us for the calculated weight of the actual part rather than working from a table.
This matters more than it sounds at the large end. A flange that a table calls 900 pounds can land meaningfully off that once the real bore and facing are accounted for, and rigging plans do not like surprises.
